Behind MojoLab

Critical listening across the whole playback chain.

MojoLab brings over 20 years of critical listening, acoustic measurement and sound refinement into a focused way of working with sound. The work has served artists, record labels, studios, music education and everyday music listeners, including gold- and platinum-certified releases along the way. The goal has always been to make sound and the listening experience more accurate, balanced and reliable.

Alongside my long career developing TAMK's music and TV studios, sound education and listening environments, MojoLab has always been an experimental laboratory for my own audio ideas and visions. It grew out of a lifelong drive to remove obstacles between music and the listener — refining bands, live sound, hi-fi systems, rooms, headphones and records until they feel natural, balanced and musically convincing.

Over time, it has grown into a focused audio service with a personal, hands-on and responsive way of working. The same research-minded approach also led to REQAL, MojoLab's own headphone brand: a listening tool developed through headphone research, acoustic experimentation, critical listening and master's thesis work.

Measurement and context Measurements help reveal what is happening, but the goal is always practical: better balance, clearer context and sound that translates more naturally.
Translation The result matters in how sound carries across headphones, speakers, rooms, cars and everyday playback.

The goal is not only level or polish. A finished master should keep its balance, energy and musical intent when it leaves the studio and meets real playback systems. Stereo mastering, stem mastering and album projects are handled with the same careful listening-first approach.

Stereo mastering has clear project-based rates. Acoustic work, playback system alignment and special mastering projects are always quoted case by case.

Single mastering
69 € incl. VAT

One carefully finished release-ready master.

Two songs
130 € incl. VAT

A small two-track project mastered as one set.

EP, 3–6 songs
60 € / song, incl. VAT

For EP projects mastered as one coherent whole.

Album, 7+ songs
55 € / song, incl. VAT

Minimum 400 €. For album projects mastered as one coherent whole.

Special projects
Quoted individually

Long albums, live albums, stem mastering and other special projects are priced according to scope.

The price includes careful mastering, release-ready WAV files and one reasonable revision round. EP and album rates apply to projects mastered as one complete release. If mixes change after mastering has started, any additional work is agreed separately.

Prepare your mix

Before sending files

What format should I send?

Send WAV or AIFF, preferably 24-bit or 32-bit, at the same sample rate as the mix session. Avoid unnecessary conversions.

Should I remove the limiter?

Remove master bus limiting if it is only there for loudness. Keep mix bus processing if you mixed through it and it is part of the sound.

Can I send stems?

Yes, when stereo mastering is not enough. All stems should start from the same point and together they should match the approved stereo mix.

What information should I include?

Artist name, song title, release name, track order for EPs or albums, reference tracks and any ISRC codes or delivery wishes you already have.

How do revisions work?

Fine adjustments are included within a reasonable scope so the final result feels balanced and complete. If the mix changes substantially after mastering has started, or if you need additional versions such as remixes or no-vocal versions, the extra work is handled case by case.

Do you offer free test masters?

No. A proper master takes context, careful listening and time. Instead, I offer a free pre-master check, which is usually more useful: it helps decide whether the mix is ready before paid mastering begins.

What will I receive?

You will receive release-ready WAV masters, a 24-bit master, a 16-bit version if needed, and agreed EP or album versions when applicable. Other formats are available by agreement.
